Disappointment

Dang, I'm having a rough week. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse... it did. I'm going to Utah this weekend for a little trip and I don't even want to go anymore. I just want to curl up at home with mom and read a good book... maybe take a few breaks in-between reading and snuggling to eat some chocolate. Sounds divine.

I want you to know what first made me sad this week. Here's an email I received that made my heart stop:

Dear Whitney Willis--

I regret to inform you that the Graduate Admissions Committee, having carefully reviewed your file, has not recommended your admission to the English Graduate Program. We appreciate your interest in our University and wish you success in your academic and professional endeavors. If you have questions about our selection process, you may contact me by email at blah blah blah, or by phone at blah blah.

Yours truly,
Some dude who ruined my dreams

I'm sad. I'm really sad. But here's a quote that keeps me going:

“There will be little rubs and disappointments everywhere, and we are all apt to expect too much; but then, if one scheme of happiness fails, human nature turns to another; if the first calculation is wrong, we make a second better: we find comfort somewhere . . .” - Jane Austen

What do you do when you're facing disappointment and things seems to keep going wrong?

So sorry Whit :( I know exactly how you feel, same thing happened to me this week. Being patient for your dreams is the hardest thing to do!
