Awkwardness for Your Wednesday

I'm not a huge fan of Wednesdays. Middle of the week = not so bueno. By the time I get to Wednesday I'm starting to feel strung out. But then... I remember I get to show you some of my favorite pins and everything becomes happy again.

So this morning I decided to put together my post and what happens? Pinterest is down. Kill me now. So, instead, I'm going to tell you kiddos about my work holiday party on Friday.

It was at this sleek bar on top of a restaurant. It may have been a bit shady to enter (back kitchen door and scary elevator), but we made it there nonetheless. P.S. I was the only one carded even though I was with girls all in their 20s as well... so offended.

Anyways, the theme was a "speakeasy" and everyone wore red. The guys dressed up in suits with hats and drank themed drinks from the bar while smoking their bubble gum cigars. There was music, entertainment, gambling and yummy appetizers. All in all a fun night, right? Wrong.

Not five minutes after I arrive does a man in a striped suit with a tommy gun sit next to me. Nay, practically on top of me. Yes, the entertainment was way too close for comfort. I brush it off at first, thinking he's just doing his job. I turn to him and say "hi, how are you?" only to realize my worst fears have been confirmed. I know this man. And he is the last man I want to see.

You see, a few months ago (about 5 to be exact) I was dating this guy. Everything was going really well and we were spending a lot of time together. Then, out of NOWHERE, he stops talking to me. We go from texting all day and having dates almost every night to NO.COMMUNICATION. Loser, right? Man up. Back to the story.

His response to my question? He lifts up his left hand to show me a ring and says, "Married." What? First of all, how rude is that? Second of all... you got married in this five month period?! And you are an entertainer at my work party? What is happening in the world?!

He proceeds to talk to me for an uncomfortably long amount of time and at this point I am just ready to leave. My friends talk me into staying and I have a good time, despite the fact that he KEEPS FOLLOWING ME and attempting to talk to me. Jerrkkkk.

So, long story short, I left an hour early. A few minutes later I receive about ten text saying that I won not ONE but TWO prizes during our raffle. Luckiest person ever?!

I won an ipod touch

AND a two night stay at the Arizona Biltmore. I'm so stoked.

Moral of the story? I don't even know. I just hope you enjoyed the awkwardness that is my life.
